Occupational Therapy

Kate views each client as a unique individual, and aims to provide a genuine, personalised and enduring service to a small number of clients, where young people and their families feel safe, supported and celebrated as their authentic selves. She deeply values working with integrity, transparency, trustworthiness and dependability. The cornerstone of Kate’s occupational therapy service is relationship, and she seeks to cultivate strong connections with young people, their families, caregivers and educators, working collaboratively in partnership as a team to maximise successes.

Kate is passionate about neuro-affirming practice and equipping young people with tools to harness their strengths and navigate challenges. She supports clients to understand and appreciate their unique brain, explore their needs, preferences and passions and be able to start communicating these confidently to others. She works from trauma-informed, client-centred and strengths-based frameworks.

Kate is committed to maintaining ongoing professional development to offer her clients the highest possible service, up to date with current perspectives in the field. Her favourite models to work from include Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS). She is currently exploring an interest in the Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA).
